Tryout Info
The is an update for those players who are ages 9-12 and will be attending tryouts for the minor and major leagues.  The tryouts will be held at the Highland field located next to the Highland City Building and Mountain Ridge junior high school.  The major tryouts are from 9am - 12 noon.  After the hitting and fielding stations for all players are completed we will have a pitching station so those wanting to pitch in the league this year can be evaluated by the coaches.  All 11-12 year olds will play in either the American or National League.   If there is an elite 10 year old who would like to tryout for the major league you need to come at 9 am.  The number of 10 year olds that are able to play in the major league depends on available roster spots after all 11-12 year olds have been assigned.

The minor league tryouts are from 1pm-4pm.  The format will be the same as the majors.  It is very important to stay for the pitching station at the end of the tryouts if you want to pitch in the league this year.  If you are an elite 8 year old and would like to tryout for the minor league you need to come at 1:00pm.  Same rules apply as above.  There must be a roster spot available after all 9-10 year olds are assigned and you must be drafted by a minor league team.

League Info

Welcome to Highland Cedar Hills Baseball for 2008.  We look forward to another fun and successful year of Cal Ripken Little League Baseball.  We appreciate all the volunteers coaches and league officials who have given countless hours in working with the boys and girls of the league to help make it an enjoyable and fun experience for them.

We will again this year be looking for coaches and volunteers to help make it another successful year for Highland Cedar Hills Baseball.  We have continued the great tradition of success in our league last year as our 12 U All-Star team won the state championship and placed 4th in the Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament held inCalifornia.  Our 9 U All-Stars placed 2nd in state and 5th in the Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament which was held in PanguitchUtah.

There will be a PDF attachment that you can use for registration and new for this year we are also adding On-Line registration.  We will eventually be working towards an on-line only advance registration process which will allow us to keep the parents and players of our league better informed about key dates and upcoming events.

The try outs for our players ages 9-12 will be on March 29th.  Times will be determined and put on our web site.   Minor League tryouts are for ages 9-10 and Major League tryouts are ages 11-12.  Those players who would be classified as an “Elite 8 “ who would like to try out for the minor league they can come at the same time as the minor tryouts.  If a player is classified as an “Elite 10 “ who would like to tryout for the major league can do so at the designated major tryout time.  You must be drafted by a minor or major team in order to play in that league.  We will be offering 4 divisions this year.   Our entry division will be the Coach Pitch League for ages 5-6.  If you are an experienced 5 year old you can play in this league.  The Rookie division will be ages 7-8 and this will be a machine pitch league.  The other two  divisions are the Minor and Major Leagues.  There are no tryouts for the younger divisions as teams will be chosen by neighborhoods.

We will be adding information to the site about umpiring the games for the league.  There will be a coordinator of umpires training and age requirements as well as payment information for everyone who wants to umpire in our league this year.

Lone Peak HS will be sponsoring a baseball clinic for ages 9-12.  This is a one day clinic.    The clinic will be held at the LPHS and offered on two dates 3/29 and 4/12  from 10:00am – 4:00pm.  Cost is $35.00 and lunch will be provided.  This will be a great chance for the young player to get help in the fundamentals of baseball that is sure to improve their throwing catching and hitting abilities.  The clinic will be run by coaches from the area including LPHS head coach Mike LaHargoue.  There will be current and former players there to watch and instruct the attendees.  You may register on-line for the clinic at highlandcedarhillsbaseball.org or at the booth which will be set up at tryouts.  If by chance one of the above dates is cancelled due to weather a make up date of 4/19 will be made available.  We are encouraging our league players to attend the 4/12 clinic since our tryouts are on 3/29.
